A sumptuous pied-a-terre at 225 Fifth Avenue is the restorative home base for a couple that travels frequently for work. The Den resides just off the Foyer. A wood-clad column, studded linen wall-coverings, and plush fabrics prioritize comfort. The open Dining Area maintains a distinctive zone between the Kitchen and Living Area under a glowing soffit and chandelier. A freestanding, cerused oak fireplace enclosure separates the Living Area and the Master Bedroom, but a see-through fireplace and over-sized openings allow spaces to flow together. Brushed brass cabinets with integrated wood pulls join an antique mirror backsplash to lend a jewel-like aspect to the Kitchen. A former closet off the Kitchen is re-conceived as a wine and coffee bar.

Our response to the snugly-proportioned bedroom is a custom-designed assembly of interlocking furniture. The headboard serves as a ledge for frequently-rotated artwork.
